Anniversary Trip

My hubby and I went to the Smoky Mountains for an anniversary getaway this past weekend. In my last post, I showed you what the view looked like when I woke up. This is the opposite side of the room from that view.

A little loft for the kids. We'll probably bring them next trip.

We rented a 2 bedroom cabin in the Pigeon Forge, TN area. The weather was spectacular. It was 45 degrees the day we arrived and it got up to 60 the following three days.

This is the main floor of the 3-level cabin.

There is also a bedroom with bath not shown in this picture.

This is how I like to see my man.

On Saturday morning, I was able to wake up a bit early and get in some stitching time before we met up with some friends from Chicago who relocated to the Pigeon Forge area.

After breakfast, our friends took us into the Smoky Mountain National Park. This is a view of Gatlinburg from a lookout point on our way into the Park.

Of course, everyone that goes to the top wants to take a picture at the Tennessee/North Carolina state line!

Here are the beautiful Smoky Mountains. I'd love to go again in Spring or Summer and see all the lush foliage.

On the Appalachian trail you can hike a couple miles up the mountain or you can keep going all the way to Maine!

It was hard to believe it was 60 degrees and shirt-sleeve weather at the bottom of the mountain!

Back down in Gatlinburg, we got to see the mountains from a different angle.

The rest of the trip was spent just hanging out with me doing as much stitching as I could! It was only a few days, but some very needed, restful days. I know we're both looking forward to our return trip!

  3. What a lovely, relaxing place!! I'd love to get the details for the cabin. My dh and I are looking for somewhere to go in april just to relax and get away. This looks perfect! And are those stitching bags on the couch made with Vera Bradley material? Can't wait to see what you're stitching!
